The Mile High Overview
About the Farm
Whether you're walking by on the street or seeing the farm digitally, there's always something interesting to see.

Abbie
Blue
Turkeys
The first question we are often asked is, "What are those bigger birds? They're not chickens, right?"
They are not!
We have two lovely, smart and quirky turkeys named Abbadon (Abbie for short) and Blue.
Abbie is the black & white one, Blue is the grayish, or blue, one.
The turkeys are the same ages as our front yard flock of chickens, but are already double their height!
Abbie is our talkative trouble maker! She loves to be heard and "barks" to say hello when people walk by. Abbie likes to be higher up and in trees, which leads to some escapes!
Blue is more of quiet and gentle one. Because of her breed, she will be a bigger turkey and has a preference to remain lower to the ground than her sister.

Unlike chickens, turkeys are more of learners and less pure instinct. This means turkeys can be trained, learn who we are and can form bonds with their owners.
Chickens
Our front yard flock consists of 3 Golden Laced Wyandottes and 6 Silver Laced Wyandottes hens. We identify the chickens according to their colored ankle bracelets. Most of the front yard hens don't have names, but as they grow, they may grow into a name!

Our backyard flock (less seen by others) is a variety of 8 different chickens/breeds. While the front yard flock consists of chickens less than 6 months in age, all chickens in the backyard are between 3-6 years of age. Some of the names of the backyard flock include: Fluffy Neck, Kelly Cluckson, Henrietta, The Broody One.

Hops

Bunny
Birds aren't the only thing we hang out with; we have a bunny too! Our happy, hoppy fluffer is named Hops. Hops was rescued and joined our family almost 7 years ago!
