Welcome to our Home.

On a daily basis, we, as individuals, must face the world that is so full of unknowns. We must leave the safety of what we know, of what feels comfortable, and brace for the challenge of

making it through to the end of the day. Welcome to the human condition.

I figured I’d start there, as I feel that might be thematic to much of what I share in posts. But before I digress down the rabbit hole that is my ADHD stream of consciousness, I should probably give you a proper introduction.

I’m Adam Rudy. I live in a small, historic town in North Carolina with my husband, Josh, and our dogs, bunnies, chickens, & turkeys (as of this post). I’m sure throughout future posts written, you will get to know more about us, should you stick around.

At this stage, it’s safe to assume either my GIF game is on point, something I’ve written has piqued your interest, or you forgot to close the tab in your browser, and this post is one of 68 long-forgotten browser tabs. And honestly, if it’s the latter and you aren’t reading this, it’s all good. I’m sure my therapist thinks this is good for me. #MentalHealth

Since this is my first blog post, I feel obligated to give you warnings. Maybe I’m just preparing you for the web of chaos that is my thought process. Lord, who knows?

But to claim my mind doesn’t wonder would be as valid of a statement as a boomer claiming it was a good idea to put linoleum over hardwood floors.

(If you recognize this scene, high five!)

Josh’s and my lives aren’t what is considered typical. Josh suffers from chronic illness, chronic fatigue, and chronic pain, amongst other things. I too have my own disabilities I have to overcome. So we focus much of our time on managing and adapting to life with disabilities. And while I do want this blog to have posts that educate around that side of our lives, this is our first date, you and I, and we can have many posts to get to know each other.

The Rudy Farm, to us, is a vision of what we want for life: a positive place, filled with love and support, that we share with those around us. We each face many struggles; many times, those struggles can seem all-encompassing. We fight to keep the light on, keep our energy positive, and make the world a bit better. In time, we hope we can share that with others.

From cuddling turkeys to exploring nature, we welcome you to The Rudy Farm. We hope you find something that gives you a smile.

Cheers,

Adam
